She was bit by a snake - 150 words
In a sun-drenched village, little Zara chased butterflies through tall grass. A rustle. A hiss. Pain shot up her leg—a snake had bitten her. She fell, crying, the world fading like color, evaporating.
In her dream, golden clouds floated above her. An angel with wings of moonlight descended, touched her foot with a petal that shimmered like stardust. “Rest, child,” the angel whispered, “you are safe.” Warmth spread through her body, like sunlight freeing pain-stricken limbs.
Zara awoke on a straw mat, blinking at the ceiling. The pain was gone. She wiggled her toes.
By her side sat a boy with kind eyes and combed hair—her brother, Ayaan, now intent to listen her speak. He smiled gently. “The snake is gone. I found you just in time. Is the pain gone?”
She looked at her foot—wrapped with herbs, smelling of earth and mint. She smiled back. She remembered the angel. She wondered if they had been the same, the boy and the winged being she had just seen.
